Inside Indigo8: Our operations administrator shares practical tips to organise your work day

Meet Indigo8's Operations Administrator Hannah.

At Indigo8 Corporate Services we have a team of talented professionals who are passionate about what they do for our clients’ businesses. Every so often, we like to introduce you to one of our employees – it’s a chance to give you some insight into our business and learn more about the people who work at Indigo8.

Here we introduce you to our Operations Administrator Hannah Bryant. Essentially, Hannah helps our clients with their administration and processing needs. Her role is very fast-paced, which suits Hannah’s personality perfectly – not only is she incredibly organised, she says she enjoys a challenge. Get to know more about her here and why you can never have enough post-it notes.

In a nut-shell, describe your role at Indigo8.

I work on a variety of administration and processing tasks for our clients’ businesses, and it’s my role to makes sure things are running smoothly and efficiently. Some of the tasks I do include sales processing, vetting our clients’ employees and sales contractors, territory management, creating ID badges, and setting up new direct sales campaigns.

How does your job impact our clients’ businesses?

A lot of the work I do is very time-consuming. The services I deliver have a hugely positive impact on our clients’ businesses – they don’t need to worry about these tasks, helping them to focus on what’s really important.

What does a typical day look like for you?

There really is no such thing as a typical day in my job. Some tasks are done routinely, but most of the time I have to work on the fly because my jobs are dependent on our clients’ requirements.

Your role is fast-paced. What are some techniques you use to manage your workload?

You can never be too organised! I like to colour code my to-do lists (yes, I have a list for each client) and you cannot go wrong with post-it notes – they keep me in check and remind me of what I need to do.

Learning never stops regardless of your experience, how do you continue to develop?

I think learning is so important and I am constantly trying to develop my skills especially when it comes to using technology.

Because I rely heavily on technology to process the work I do for our clients, it’s really important that I know how it works – when a formula has dropped out or human error comes into play I’ll know how to fix it! If I don’t know something, I often turn to Google to figure it out or I have access to an amazing team of developers who often share lots of tips, so I can do things better and faster.

What is your most memorable work moment?

Last year I won the Employee of the Year Award which was part of our Employee Recognition Program. It was a really nice surprise and reminded me that I am appreciated by my peers and clients.

If you had to be locked in a building overnight, which would it be?

I would like to be locked in a movie theatre because I love cinema popcorn and I would get to have an awesome movie marathon of my choosing!

What was the last book you read?

Does a book series count? I recently finished re-reading the Harry Potter series. It was so enjoyable to be immersed back in that ‘world’ and felt like the school kid I was when I first read them.

What’s the most recent app you’ve downloaded but are yet to use?

Trello – it helps you get organised! As mentioned previously, you really can never be too prepared. So, when I do manage to use it, I am going to plan my entire upcoming wedding from the app!
